Career and Employment Centre
Innovative services and supports to help you with career, employment and post-secondary options.
The Career and Employment Centre offers a wide range of resources and services to assist any Albertan seeking support and advice with their career planning or job search. Skilled staff are available to provide coaching on resumes and cover letter writing, interview preparation, online job search and more. Clients have access to a career resource library, job postings by employers from local and surrounding areas, and access to computers, printer, scanner, fax, photocopier, and telephone. The centre also offers job fairs, workshops and an Annual Career and Employment Expo. Residents of Claresholm, Turner Valley-Black Diamond, and Nanton are offered services through the Itinerant Coach program.
Launch is a paid work experience program for young adults ages 20 to 30.
Clients will have some post-secondary education (college, university, trades) and be unemployed and struggling to find employment due to a lack of experience or career focus. Each client will develop an action plan specific to their employment goals and will be provided with one-on-one career and employment counselling for which the client will receive a training allowance. The paid work experience component connects the client with an employer who will provide occupation-specific training. This allows for the development of relevant work experience. Full-time, sustainable employment is the program objective.
