  • Developing and implementing a work-experience-evaluation process while working closely with the Employer Coach, maintaining open communication.
  • Interacting one-on-one or in small groups.
  • Monitoring and assisting Participants with their job search.
  • Assisting Participants with resume/reference/cover letter writing and development, completion of employment applications, and conducting workshops around barriers/concerns related to daycare, health (physical and mental), clothing, housing, utilities, personal finance, hygiene, general attendance, and all other barrier-related topics.
  • Computer consultations (related to the job search)
  • Coaching Participants in areas of self-marketing and job-search strategies/techniques.
  • Developing community resource and industry contacts.
  • Working closely with the Program Manager to develop marketing strategies for individual Participants and ensure program-contract expectations are being met related to placement, program completion, and monthly follow-up.
  • Accommodating individuals with hearing, visual, physical, intellectual, or other challenges/barriers.
  • Completing interim and monthly progress reports.
  • Maintaining regular communication with community agencies as appropriate.
  • Maintaining regular contact with both active and completed Participants.
  • Attending and participating in daily/weekly program meetings to discuss participants.
  • Maintaining a professional working relationship with fellow program staff/team members.
Qualifications:
  • Work experience and job placement experience for individuals with barriers to employment, such as mental health concerns (including self-identified).
  • Experience with individuals with employment barriers, such as mental health issues, of any age, who require assistance to obtain and maintain employment.
  • Some post-secondary education and experience working in a client-based industry.
  • Understanding of the career planning process.
  • Facilitation experience (1:1 and small groups).
  • Exposure to seminars and training programs/affiliation with professional associations related to career development.
  • Must be fluent in workshop development and mental health related barriers.
  • Strong computer knowledge/skills are mandatory.

The CCEC Program in South Calgary is looking for an Administrative Assistant/ Information Resource Specialist.
Job Title: Administrative Assistant/Information Resource Specialist for the Calgary Career and Employment Centre (CCEC) Primary Purpose of the Job: To perform the administrative duties and operational requirements for the CCEC. To support clients in the resource centre with employment and education-related research, document completion, and technology challenges. Reports to: Program Manager Direct Reports: Not Applicable Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review client registrations and enter information with accuracy into internal and external Databases
  • Compile information and statistical data with accuracy
  • Complete all month-end reports as per policy and procedures, including ensuring the accuracy of data entry, importing statistical information into report templates, monthly tracking, and final synopsis report.
  • Follow outlined procedures and keep accurate, current records as required
  • Provide coverage to other administrative staff and IRS
  • Maintain up-to-date files and store files as per company processes

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of related experience
  • Office Administrative course or equivalent experience
  • MS Office Suite (proficient in Word/Excel)

Primary Purpose of the Job:

  • Provide career and employment activities and interventions 1:1 or in small groups to clients with high barriers to employment 40% in the office and 60% on the worksite

  • Minimum of two years experience working with clients with barriers such as addictions, poverty, single parent, mental or physical health, disabilities, food or housing insecurity, lack of work experience, etc., preferably in an employment coaching role
  • Experience handling sensitive information and handling personnel matters with discretion
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced professional environment
  • Understanding of adult learning theory and experience facilitating a small group or face-to-face instruction

Primary Purpose of the Job:  To connect with and secure Employers in line with monthly goals to ensure all clients have access to full and part-time Work Exposure (WE) opportunities.   • Recruit employers & market clients for Work Exposure and employment
