E6 Initiative
Engage-Encourage-Educate-Empower-Employ-Enrich
Program Overview
The E6 Initiative (Engage-Encourage-Educate-Empower-Employ-Enrich) is an innovative service that empowers individuals with mental health disabilities to engage in the labour market. Participants work closely with a dedicated job coach to develop mental health management strategies, build essential employment skills, and receive personalized job search coaching.
The E6 Initiative also supports employers in inclusive hiring practices.
E6 assists participants through the following:
- In-depth assessments to identify needs
- Individualized and small-group sessions
- Psychological support
- Employment development activities
- Job search assistance/direct job matching
- Completion of job applications
- Paid work exposure
- Offered at no cost
The Province of Alberta is working in partnership with the Government of Canada to provide employment support services and programs.
Eligibility Requirements:
You may be eligible to participate if you are:
- At least 18 years of age
- Reside in Alberta
- Unemployed or underemployed
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents or legally entitled to work or train in Canada
- Have barriers due to an identifiable or self-disclosed disability that is interfering with their ability to reach an employment goal
- Ready, willing and able to have sufficient physical and mental health to participate in the assessment process and to obtain and retain employment
Length:
- Average length of service varies based on client needs to a maximum of 52-weeks
