What You Bring:
Leadership Roles: At least 3 years of leadership experience, including supervising, mentoring, and motivating teams in a professional environment. A proven ability to set clear goals, delegate tasks, manage performance, and foster a positive team culture. Strong de-escalation and conflict resolution strategies, decision-making, and communication skills are essential. Knowledge of trauma-informed and client-centred care is an asset. Post-secondary education in a Human Services field – such as Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or Career Development – is required.
Client Support Professionals: At least 2 years’ experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment, housing, or mental health challenges, including direct support or advocacy roles. Skills include strong communication, active listening, empathy, cultural sensitivity, adaptability, rapport-building, teamwork, problem-solving, and professionalism with confidential information. Knowledge of trauma-informed and client-centred care is an asset. Completion of post-secondary education in a Human Services related field, such as Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Career Development, or a closely related field.
Staff Support Positions: At least 2 years’ administrative experience, including accurate data entry, document management, scheduling, maintaining confidential files, and strong organizational abilities to ensure efficient office operations. Experience with client management systems and proficiency in communication are essential for effective case documentation and reporting.
IT Support Positions: At least 2 years’ experience, involving technical troubleshooting, managing software updates, providing user support for various applications (such as the Microsoft Office Suite), and ensuring data integrity and security. Familiarity with databases and online collaboration tools is an asset to streamline workflow and support staff.

About the E6 Initiative:
The E6 Initiative (Engage-Encourage-Educate-Empower-Employ-Enrich) is an innovative service that empowers individuals with mental health disabilities to engage in the labour market. Participants work closely with a dedicated job coach to develop mental health management strategies, build essential employment skills, and receive personalized job search coaching.
The E6 Initiative also supports employers in inclusive hiring practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in job development/job placement
- Career Development Certificate or related post-secondary education
- Social media, events planning, and Business to Business sales experience
- Knowledge of the Calgary labour market
- Labour market connections are an asset
- Knowledge of workplace integration strategies, Alberta labour/disability laws, and Duty to Accommodate legislation

Job Title: Career Advisor
Primary Purpose of the Job: To support job seekers and those in transition to school or another career in building solid job search tools and competencies through coaching, facilitating and collaboration.
Reports to: Program Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 with clients on individualized employment goals and strategies
- Provide coaching on resume and cover letter development, interview skills, job search strategies, networking, and other related tasks
- Workshop facilitation utilizing engaging techniques, technology and applicable, updated materials
- Develop relevant and innovative materials applicable to job search, career investigation and education exploration
- Maintain and utilize resources for community referrals
- Establish and maintain a network with community partners, employers, and industry representatives to assist clients in attaching to the labour market
- Facilitate solutions and resource connections to mitigate barriers to employment
- Ensure contract expectations are being met, including, but not limited to- assessments, reporting, referrals, and file management
- Promote MCG Careers programs and services professionally; assist in the development of various marketing materials
- Work collaboratively with the team and provide support to other programs as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Post-secondary education and experience working in a client-based industry
- Minimum 3 years in career development
- CCDP Certification is an asset
- Experience and understanding of the challenges of this specific client group
- Understanding of the career planning process
- Computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and using web-based software
