 MCG Careers has provided services to unemployed Albertans since 1989. We utilize current career development techniques to assist individuals with successful employment preparation, job placement, training on the job, workshops, and skill training programs.

MCG Careers is currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our HIRED team in Red Deer.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Office Administration
  • Post-secondary education in a related area or two years of comparable experience plus 2 years of customer service experience and a High School diploma
  • Experience working in a client-based industry
  • Experience handling sensitive information and handling personnel matters with discretion
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, professional environment
  • Communication and problem-solving skills, exceptional customer service, and people skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Knowledge of local community resources and agencies
  • Proficiency with Compass is an asset

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct initial eligibility pre-screening for Job Seekers referred to or self-referring into MCG programs
  • Guide individuals through a structured checklist covering residency, citizenship or work authorization, employment status, financial self-sufficiency, and the presence of barriers or disabilities affecting employment
  • Direct Job Seekers to resources that best suit their needs, such as publications, templates, online resources/websites, MCG-developed resource materials, help lines, other service providers, government agencies, community resources, etc.
  • Ensure every interaction results in individuals feeling heard, supported, and connected to appropriate resources
  • Ensure services are delivered in alignment with service standards, confidentiality requirements, and accessibility guidelines
  • Help create a positive, energetic, client-centered environment
