Job Title: Journeyperson Electrician
Employer: Nose Creek Electrical Services

Job Location: 

  • Based in Calgary, AB
  • May be required to travel to various locations in Alberta on occasion, except for the Wood Buffalo-Cold Lake Region.
  • Living-out Allowance and Living Expenses paid by the employer for out-of-town work, per company policy
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from worksites

Wage:

  • $40 (base Journeyman level) to $42 per hour, based on experience
  • 20% Shift Premium for afternoon shift (3 PM to 1 AM Monday-Thursday)
  • Salary increases as per company policy

Employment terms and conditions:

  • Permanent, Full-Time (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
  • Optional Compressed Work Week (4 x 10hr. days vs. 5 x 8hr. days)
  • Shift Work required

Job requirements:

Education: Journeyman Trade Certification (Electrician)
Experience: 4 years (may be gained through apprenticeship work experience)

Duties:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical diagrams, specifications and electrical codes to accurately install, service, or maintain electrical systems (e.g. lighting fixtures, electrical control and distribution equipment, backup power systems, etc.)
  • Test installations to verify voltage, load, grounding, and circuit integrity, and troubleshoot and repair/replace faults
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to hang and support electrical equipment and to complete electrical tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Pull, splice, terminate, connect and join surface-mounted, overhead and underground wiring
  • Install conduit, raceway, and cable tray systems
  • Connect electrical power to other equipment (e.g. AV, Fire Alarm, Signaling Devices, HVAC Systems, pools and hot tubs)
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure seamless integration of electrical components
  • Provide guidance to apprentices as required
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and ensure all installations meet compliance and safety standards
    Communicate with clients or end users regarding work requirements and progress
