Job Requirements

  • Language: English
  • Experience: 3 years of related experience
  • Work Setting: Underground Infrastructure construction which includes storm, sanitary, and water mains within municipal, commercial, or residential land development projects.
  • Ability to Supervise: 5–10 people
  • Construction Specialization: Municipal, commercial or residential deep underground utilities (storm, sanitary, and water systems).
  • Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Underground, Confined spaces, Dangerous, Dusty
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Manual dexterity, Work under pressure, Handling heavy loads (Up to 23 kg (50 lbs))
  • Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, Flexibility, Reliability, Team player, Dependability, Judgement
  • Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
  • Security and safety: Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements

Main Duties

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of underground crews, including operators and pipelayers, working on municipal, commercial or residential water, sanitary, and storm systems.
  • Train and mentor employees.
  • Inspect trench depth, grade, and alignment to verify accuracy.
  • Monitor work progress to maintain productivity, quality, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Know, understand, and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Know, understand, and follow all company rules, policies, and procedures.
  • May perform the duties of those supervised.
