The Opportunity
Booker Veterinary Services is a dynamic group of companies at the heart of North American agriculture. We are looking for a precise, versatile Bookkeeper and Executive Assistant to join our Business Administration Team.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a dual role: managing the complex financial pulse of multiple entities and providing high-level administrative support to keep our operations running smoothly. What You will Do
• Full-Cycle Accounting: Maintain accurate records and manage the General Ledger for a diverse
group of cross-border entities.
• Payment Management: Execute A/P runs via EFT, cheque, online bill payments, and ACH for
multiple accounts.
• Inventory & Data: Oversee database inventory tracking and ensure data integrity.
• Financial Reporting: Draft and coordinate financial, statistical, and narrative reports to support
executive decision-making.
• CEO Support: Act as a right hand to the CEO, managing business errands and executing ad-hoc
internal reporting or queries as needed.
• Efficiency: Perform bank deposits and other essential administrative duties as assigned.
• Periodic Personal‑Support Assistance: Support the CEO with periodic personal errands (e.g.,
overseeing home access, meeting contractors, handling vehicle, or appointment drop‑offs, or
assisting with pre‑scheduled family‑related errands (e.g., pet pickups)
What You Bring
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of general accounting experience.
• Software Savvy: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks or Sage, and Microsoft Office (especially
Excel).
• Precision: An exceptional eye for detail and a “get it right the first time” mentality.
• Communication: Strong professional presence with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Agility: The ability to pivot between complex accounting tasks and time-sensitive executive errands
with a positive, responsive attitude.
• Education: A recognized accounting certificate or diploma is preferred.
Work Details & Benefits
• Schedule: Full-time, Permanent (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM). 37.5 hours per week.
• Location: Based in our Aldersyde office. Reliable transportation is required.
• Compensation: $58,000 to $72,000. Final compensation will reflect experience in bookkeeping,
administrative leadership, and supporting senior decision-makers.
