Auto and Small Engine Mechanic

Job Location: HighRiver

Job Description
• Perform inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment used in landscaping operations (including lawn mowing and snow removal equipment)
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues across a variety of auto and small engine systems
• Complete routine servicing and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and longevity
• Identify and repair engine and system faults efficiently and accurately
• Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Demonstrate leadership abilities when supervising or assisting other team members
• Maintain a proactive approach to equipment upkeep and operational readiness
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company standards

Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Fabricate parts as necessary to replace worn or damaged components.
• Operate welding equipment for repairs and modifications.
• Maintain facilities by performing general maintenance tasks as required.
• Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in accordance with company policies.
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely and correct fashion. Give cost comparisons and quotes for parts

Job Requirements
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair automotive and small engine equipment
• Experience maintaining landscaping equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, trimmers, snow removal machinery) is an asset
• Minimum of 3 years of mechanic experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on vehicles and small engines
• Skilled in identifying mechanical issues and determining appropriate repair solutions
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team
• Demonstrated leadership skills or ability to supervise and guide team members when required
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
• Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Physically capable of handling manual labor, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions
• Valid and clean Class 5 drivers licence
