Job Posting: Youth Summer Events Assistant

- Rate of Pay per hour: $16.50

The Summer Events Assistant will have some knowledge and experience with people with disabilities and inclusion. Must be able to build relationships with community members and other stakeholders. The candidate will participate in all summer events, and assist with organizing, execution and promotion of events. Experience with planning events and social media content creation is an asset.
Duties:
- • Collaborate as part of the Inclusion Foothills team
- • Plan, promote, coordinate, and carry out community events including markets, awareness events, and fundraisers
- • Ongoing engagement/networking of business and community promoting inclusion
- • Follow policies and procedures of Inclusion Foothills
Minimum Requirements as per Canada Summer Jobs:
- a) Must be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment and a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident
Qualifications:
- • Knowledge of disability resources, including inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of community
- • Previous experience planning and coordinating events
- • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- • Research and Analysis skills
- • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- • Excellent written and oral communication skills
- • Adaptability and ability to problem-solve
- • Strong digital skills, including computers and social media
- • Must possess a valid Alberta Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- • Provide recent Criminal Record check with Vulnerable Sector, Child Intervention Check and references •
- Education requirements: Secondary and/or Post-Secondary
- • Ability to lift 50-100 lbs as required for event set up/take-down
