Job Developer – Downtown Calgary


Qualifications for this Position:

  • Education and/or experience in Human Services field; Certificate in Career Development an asset
  • Oil & Gas knowledge/exposure
  • Strong background in sales
  • Experience in Job Placement
  • Knowledge of Principals of adult learning; Techniques commonly used to facilitate learning; Career Development Fundamentals
  • Knowledge of the current Calgary Labour Market; Challenges common to Unemployed Albertans
  • Communication & problem-solving skills, exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to establish rapport & build labour market contracts
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and Social Media
  • Working knowledge of Mobius



  • Placement of clients into Work Experience opportunities; support of clients during the placement term
  • Negotiate client employment contracts
  • Facilitate Workplace Training Sessions
  • Develop/update instructional materials as needed (PowerPoint, Student Handouts etc.)
  • Ensure materials follow contract requirements
  • Assist Client to reach required outcomes
  • Update Client Service Plan & Mobius Files
  • Ensure sessions use multiple teaching methods to ensure auditory, visual, kinetic learning occurs
  • Incorporate adult learning theories
  • Motivate & encourage Clients to take action
  • Team meetings
  • Month-end reporting
  • Respect cultural diversity and inclusiveness
