This position is 0.6 FTE for CPAs with 5 or more years’ experience, however will consider a CPA will less experience up to 1.0 FTE.

Purpose and Scope of this position:

Reporting to the CEO this position will ensure the critical functions of the accounting department are being met on a timely basis.

Qualifications for this Position:

• CPA Designation or MBA
• 5+ years of progressive management accounting experience
• Project Accounting or Job Costing Experience
• Payroll & Source Deductions Experience
• GST & Tax remittances Experience
• Month End and Year End Accounting Experience
• Good working knowledge of SAGE
• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Good understanding of GAAP and ASPE principals

Responsibilities:

• Cashflow Analysis
• Month end function
• Year-end function
• Liaise with external & internal stakeholders
• Ensure Contract & Regulation Compliance
• Revenue recognition & AR monitoring
• Oversight of Accounts Payable
• Oversight of Payroll and ensure adherence to labour standards
• Oversight on federal & provincial remittances
• WCB annual filing and payments
• Oversight of program accounting
• Provide support to Junior Controller
• Oversight and completion of Bank Reconciliations
• Oversight and management of Corporate credit card
• Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
• Ensure effective internal controls are in place and are being adhere too
• Budget Forecasting & Financial Analysis
• Ad Hoc duties related to an accounting role
