The Brenda Strafford Foundation (BSF) is a charitable organization that currently owns and operates five Long Term Care and Assisted Living seniors care communities in Calgary and Okotoks, AB. We take pride in providing a safe, caring and comfortable home environment that caters to the complex needs of our senior residents and families.

Tudor Manor, located in Okotoks, is looking for the next great addition to our team! The Comfort Care Aide is responsible for enhancing and providing care and services for individual residents.
Some of the primary responsibilities include: Providing comfort, support and assistance to residents; Assist with portering residents; Provide residents with mealtime assistance; Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is always available and refilling equipment as needed; Complete cleaning and disinfecting of all high touch areas within the Manor by adhering to all infection control practices and procedures; Support with screening of staff and visitors entering the building; Receive deliveries and stock supplies; Perform other related duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Work hours are 11am-7pm
52 hours/bi-weekly (4 shifts one week, 3 shifts one week, repeat)
Every second weekend off
This is a temporary 3 month position with the possibility of extension.
As essential workers in continuing care, who provide care and services to the most vulnerable in our society, we have a responsibility to ensure we reduce our risk of exposure to COVID-19. The Foundation requires all new hires to be immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine offers hope in the fight against COVID-19 and we must do everything we can to protect ourselves, each other, and our residents.
Pease note you need to be comfortable working within a Covid-19 Positive site. All employees are subject to screening upon entry in the building and will be provided with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The Comfort Care Aide must demonstrate:
Strong ability to communicate in verbal and written English;
Effective interpersonal and communication skills with residents, families, visitors and team members
Superior organizational and time management skills;
Flexibility and Resourcefulness;
Good ability to work independently
Required education and experience:
Completion of Grade 12
Experience working with seniors is considered an asset
All new employees are required to have received at minimum, a 2nd dose (if a two-dose vaccine) of a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine prior commencing employment.
The ideal candidate can only work at one Long Term Care Facility until the CMOH Order is lifted.
