  • Job Location:  The position requires travel to various locations in the Acheson/Edmonton area. (Travel expenses are covered by the employer for travel outside the Edmonton area.
  • Wage: $34.00 to $40.00 /hour (based on skills and experience/salary increases as per company’s policy)
  • Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal employment, full-time, 40 to 70 hours per week (weather dependent), Overtime, Morning, Day, evening, Weekend

Job Requirements

  • Language: Basic English
  • Education: No education is required
  • Experience: 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent training
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Overtime required
  • Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Dusty, Noisy, Traffic
    Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
  • Personal Suitability: Team Player
  • Area of Work: Industrial/commercial/institutional (ICI) construction, Road construction, Asphalt finishing, Fine grading and finishing, Rough grading, sub-grade rolling
  • Type of Heavy Equipment Operated: Asphalt Spreader, Paver, Roller, Grader, Compactor, Screed


  • Operate heavy equipment
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
  • Secure special attachments to equipment
  • Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment
  • Monitor safety conditions
