Job Location:

·         Based in Airdrie, AB, with travel to various locations in Central and Southern Alberta.

·         Mileage, travel expenses, and living allowance paid by the employer, per company policy.

Wage:

·         $33.65 – $37.00/hour (based on skills and experience)

·         Salary increases per company policy

·         Bonus per company policy

Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal employment, full-time (40 to 60 hours per week, weather dependent); Overtime, Mornings, Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends

Job requirements:

Language: Basic English

Experience:  3 years of relevant experience

Work Setting: Commercial, Industrial, Roads and bridges, Sidewalks and curbs

Type of Materials: Colours and sealers, Hardeners and epoxies, Reinforcing membrane and protective covering

Worksite environment: Outdoors, Dusty, Noisy, Job entails working close to buildings, utilities, moving equipment and public traffic, etc.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads (up to 50 lbs/23 kg), Bending, crouching, kneeling, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment

Personal Suitability: Team Player, Accurate, Organized, Reliability, Flexibility

Own Tools: Steel-toed safety boots

Security and Safety: Pre-access drug and alcohol screening is required prior to working on specific job sites

 

Duties:

·         Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade

·         Erect and dismantle concrete forms

·         Mix, pour, and spread materials

·         Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement

·         Operate power vibrators to compact concrete

·         Level earth to fine-grade specifications

·         Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification

·         Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools

·         Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces

·         Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures

·         Load, unload, and transport construction materials

·         Monitor safety conditions

·         May be required to perform related duties as needed
