  • Job Location: Based in Airdrie, AB, with travel to various locations in Calgary and the Camrose-Drumheller area.
  • Mileage, travel expenses, and living allowance paid by the employer as per company policy

  • Wage: $32.46 to $38.50 /hour (based on skills and experience/salary increases as per company’s policy)
  • Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal employment, full-time, 40 to 60 hours per week (weather dependent), Overtime, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Night

Job Requirements

  • Language: English
  • Education: No education is required
  • Experience: 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent training
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail,
  • Fast-paced environment, Overtime required, Handling heavy loads up to 50 lbs
  • Work Site: Outdoors, Dusty, Noisy, Traffic, Job entails working close to buildings, utilities, etc.

  • Work Setting: Industrial/commercial/institutional (ICI), Residential construction, Road construction
  • Type of Heavy Equipment Operated: Asphalt Screed, Paver, Grader, Skidder, Asphalt roller
  • Area of work experience: Asphalt finishing, Fine grading and finishing, Rough grading
  • Security and Safety: Pre-access drug and alcohol screening is required prior to working on specific job sites

Duties

  • Operate heavy equipment.
  • Operate computer-controlled equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment.
  • Secure special attachments to equipment.
  • Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment.
  • Monitor safety conditions.
