Job Location:  Based at 231 Rickards Road, Fort McMurray, AB T9H 0E1, work in various locations in the Fort McMurray, Alberta area

Wage: $40.00 to $51.00/ hour

Benefits: Dental and extended medical

Employment terms and conditions: Permanent, full time; 40 to 80 hours per week; Overtime, Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Night, Shift (7 days on, 7 days off)

Job requirements:

Language: English

Education: Some college or industry courses in welding or equivalent experience

Experience: 3 years of relevant experience

Security and Safety: Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) and Oil Sands Safety Association Basic Safety Orientation (OSSA BSO) (Or able to get prior to commencement of employment); Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol test; Basic security clearance

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:  Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads (up to 100 lbs), Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Sitting, Standing for extended periods, Overtime required, Must be medically fit for duty

Work Site Environment: Northern living conditions, Outdoor work in extremely cold temperatures

Personal Suitability: Organized, Effective interpersonal skills, Team player

Welding Techniques: Flux core arc welding

Credentials: Welder trade certification

Work Setting: Industrial


·        Repair and fabricate metal parts of heavy equipment (haul trucks, dozers, backhoes, buckets, blades, boxes, etc.)

·        Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment

·        Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment

·        Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal

·        Determine weldability of materials

·        Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
