Duties:
- Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
- Fill hollows and remove high spots to smooth freshly poured concrete
- Operate power vibrator to compact concrete
- Level top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications using straightedge or float
- Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete
- Waterproof, damp-proof and restore concrete surfaces
- Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of floors, curb and gutters and other concrete structures
- Operate various equipment and machinery
- Pour and spread materials
- Tamp concrete using electric vibrator
- Erect and dismantle concrete forms. Measure lumber to ensure specified thickness, length and width as per blueprint/design specs
- Tie and place rebar, when required, within the concrete project

Experience: 3 years of related experience
Area of Specialization: [SM1] Construction (ground leveling/forming, finishing/ decorative finishing/concrete slabs/ basements/stairs/footings/curbs/patios and sidewalks)
Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Dusty, Noisy, Weather elements
Work setting: Rural, Urban, Commercial, Residential, Sidewalks and Curbs
Type of materials: Colours and sealers, Lightweight concrete, Reinforcing membrane and Protective covering, hardeners and epoxies, Mastic flooring
Work Condition: Fast-paced environment, Overtime when operations require
Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Physically demanding, Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 80-100 lbs, Bending, crouching kneeling, standing for extended periods
Personal Suitability: Flexibility, Accuracy, Safety-orientated
Own tools/equipment: CSA approved Steel-toed safety boots, Hard Hat, Gloves
Job Locations: Based in Calgary (AB), work in various locations in the Calgary area
Wage: $30.25 to $33.00/ hour (salary increases as per company policy)
Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal, Full-Time, 40-50 hours/week, Morning, Day, Weekend, Overtime
