Duties
• Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardensPlan and construct landscaped environments which may include trees, shrubberies, lawns, fences, decks, patios and other landscape structures
• Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and other lawn care products
• Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
• Plant and move trees
• Level earth to fine-grade specifications
• Rake and collect refuse
• Cut grass
• Weed, prune and trim trees and plants
• Cart and spread topsoil and other materials
• Lay sod or seed
• Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment
• Dig ditches and trenches
• Installation of irrigation and drainage
Job Requirements
• Language: English
• Education: No education is required
• Experience: 2 years of related experience
• Worksite environment: Outdoor, Noisy, Dusty
• Work setting: Urban area, Landscape maintenance, Park and recreation sites, Private Residence
• Area of specialization: Equipment and machinery (chain saw, small engine equipment, sod cutter, tractor mower, weed trimmer/edger)
• Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
• Work conditions: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Overtime required
• Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, handling heavy loads (lifting up to 50 lbs), manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye coordination,
• bending, Crouching, Kneeling
• Personal Suitability: Client focus, Dependability, Efficient interpersonal skills, Organized, Team player
