Labourer, excavation (NOC 75110)

Job requirements:
- Language: English
- Education: No education required
- Experience: Experience with equipment and machinery (circular saws, drills, trampers (Jumping Jack), chain saw, compactor, sledgehammer) considered as an asset, but not required.
- Area of Specialization: Industrial, commercial and institutional; Underground and tunnel work; Water mains
- Work Conditions: fast-paced environment, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks
- Worksite environment: outdoor, underground, confined spaces, dangerous
- Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding (lift up to 50 lbs), mentally alert, able to work long hours (8-13 hours/day), attention to detail, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling
- Personal Suitability: Reliability, flexibility, team player, efficient interpersonal skills
- Own tools/equipment: CSA approved safety boots
Duties:
- Assist heavy equipment operators
- Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
- Load, unload and transport construction materials
- Mix, pour and spread materials
- Level earth to fine grade specifications
- Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
- Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
- Direct traffic at or near construction sites
- Clean and pile salvaged materials
- Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
