Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Director to join our dynamic team. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to ensure the smooth operation of the daycare, provide high-quality educational experiences, and maintain a positive and safe environment for children and staff. This role requires a blend of teaching expertise, administrative skills, and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • – Assist the Director in overseeing the daily operations of the daycare, ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies.
  • – Support the development and implementation of educational programs and activities that promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children.
  • – Supervise and mentor teaching staff, providing guidance and support to foster a positive work environment and professional growth.
  • – Collaborate with families to address their needs and concerns, maintaining open and effective communication.
  • – Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, enrollment, budgeting, and record-keeping.
  • – Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by maintaining a clean, organized, and secure environment.
  • – Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating staff members.
  • – Plan and participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • – Step in as Acting Director in the absence of the Director.

Qualifications:

  • – Minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching, child care, and/or administrating a child care facility.
  • – At least 2 years of administrative-leadership experience.
  • – Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
  • – Strong bias towards different culture and ethnicities.
  • – Fluency in a secondary language.
  • – Experience using educational technology.
  • – Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • – Ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • – Proficient in using computer software and applications for administrative purposes.
  • – CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • – Clear criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening.
