Position Overview

The Integrity Group of Companies consists of five different business units, with the primary areas of focus including the construction of post frame buildings across Western Canada, supplying framing material packages to homebuilders in Calgary and area, as well as manufacturing.

The responsibilities of the Lumber Material Handler are to assist in unloading materials from inbound shipments, assist in the processing of site returns and corresponding paperwork, assist in stock put away procedures ensuring placement of materials is in stocking and staging locations, and conduct general yard cleanup and organization tasks as deemed by the materials management supervisor and production supervisor.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct the processing of jobsite returns
  • Process the precision cuts of beam and joist material as per jobsite requests
  • Operate a forklift to unload and load all materials
  • Participate in training and mentorship exercises
  • Ensure work is being done effectively and accurate
  • Receive and check incoming shipments
  • Ensure inbound and outbound materials are packaged correctly
  • Perform stock-put away with a forklift, manually, or with warehouse equipment including ladders, safety stairs to assist reaching areas above ground level, but not requiring fall protection training, or restraint.
  • Keep records of completed receipts
  • Assist in yard cleanup and general stocking and staging area maintenance
  • Maintain equipment and report on malfunctions
  • Adhere to health & safety policies and quality standards

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Minimum Experience: Lumber yard and warehousing experience considered an asset
  • Preferred Experience: Warehouse / lumber yard: 1 year
  • License/ Certifications: Forklift License (Preferred)

  • General health and safety knowledge required for visiting building sites
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work cooperatively and be willing to assist others
  • Great attention to detail
  • Diligent and punctual
  • Good physical strength and stamina
  • Enjoys working outside on a daily basis
  • Meticulously detailed in documentation handling

Technology & Equipment

  • Experience or license in handling forklifts and other equipment
  • Training and experience in the operation of a chainsaw and skil-saw

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday, No weekends
  • Pay: From $19.00 per hour
